What are the effects?

This substance belongs to the group:

Methyleugenol is on the Red List* from Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, a project of Breast Cancer Prevention Partners (previously the Breast Cancer Fund). They classify the substance as a probable carcinogen.

How is it used?

Methyl eugeno, sometimes also used as one word; Methyleugenol”, is a naturally occurring liquid that can be found in many essential oils. The compound is used in essential oils because it has a clove-like aroma. In cosmetic products* it is mainly used as a fragrance ingredient and can be found in sunless tanning products, body oils and body sprays.

“Cosmetics range from everyday hygiene products such as soap, shampoo, deodorant, and toothpaste to luxury beauty items including perfumes and makeup”.
